Getting started
From a fresh account to your first finished clips, in about the time it takes to make coffee.
1. Create an account
Sign up at app.viddyflow.com/register. New accounts start with 500 free credits, which is enough to process a few hours of stream and see what the output actually looks like before you spend anything.
Confirm your email address when the message arrives. Until you do, some features stay locked.
2. Give it a stream
There are two ways in, and the choice changes how ViddyFlow scores your stream.
A public Twitch VOD. Paste the URL. This is the better option when you have it, because ViddyFlow can also analyse the chat, and a wave of reaction at 02:14:30 is a good sign something worth clipping happened there.
An uploaded file. Drop in an MP4, MOV or M4V, up to 12 GiB. Useful for streams that are no longer on Twitch, or content from elsewhere. There is no chat to analyse, so scoring relies on the video and audio alone.
Some VODs cannot be processed. ViddyFlow checks before charging you. A stream that is still live has to finish first, since an in-progress broadcast cannot be downloaded cleanly. Private, subscriber-only, deleted and region-restricted VODs are rejected with a message saying which of those it is.
3. Choose how hard it should think
The processing tier sets how carefully ViddyFlow analyzes your stream, and with it, the cost per hour of source video. Rapid Sprint is the cheapest and fastest at 18 credits per VOD-hour; Director Finish is the most thorough at 90. Auto Balance at 65 is a reasonable default if you have no strong opinion.
4. Decide what you want out
You can ask for a long-form highlight reel, a batch of vertical shorts, or both from the same pass over the stream.
If you only publish vertically, set the compilation length to 0. That is a shorts-only job: no reel is rendered and you are not charged generation credits for one. See Creating a job for every option in detail, and Vertical shorts for framing, captions and how many you can request.
You will see the exact credit cost before you confirm. Nothing is charged until you submit.
5. Wait, but not in front of the screen
Processing runs on our machines, not yours, so you can close the tab. A job moves through four states:

running | Downloading, processing, scoring and rendering. Most of the wait is here. |
completed | Everything rendered and uploaded. Your files are ready to download. |
failed | Something went wrong, and your credits were refunded automatically. The message tells you why. Cancelling a job also lands here, labelled as cancelled by user. |
Expect a few minutes of processing per hour of source video, varying with the tier you picked and how busy things are. You will get an email the moment it finishes, so there is no need to keep the tab open and refresh. Building against the API instead? 6. Collect your files
Open the job to find your highlight reel, your shorts, thumbnails, generated titles and descriptions, and a .srt caption file for each short. Download them one at a time or grab everything as a single ZIP.
Save what you want to keep. Output files are permanently deleted about 30 days after a job last changes. The job stays in your history, but the videos do not. Full details on Your results.
If the first job is not quite right
Rate it. A thumbs down with a reason (wrong moments, timing off, needs editing) feeds directly into how moments get scored, and it is the fastest way to make ViddyFlow better at your particular kind of stream.
You can also rerun a job, which starts a fresh one prefilled with the same settings, so you only change the one thing you want to change.
