Send a short or a highlight video straight to your YouTube channel from its job page, with the title, description, tags and chapters already filled in.

Coming soon. Posting to YouTube is not available yet. This page describes how it will work. Until then, download your videos from the job page and upload them yourself: each video's title, description and tags, and the chapter list of every highlight video, are already in its metadata, ready to paste.

Who can use it

Posting to YouTube will come with the Pro and Studio plans, at no extra credit cost. See Credits and plans.

Connect your channel

  1. In the app, open Settings, then the Integrations tab, and click Connect. You can also connect straight from the post window the first time you post.
  2. Google opens a window: pick the Google account that owns your channel and allow both permissions.
  3. Your channel's name appears on the card. You only do this once.

ViddyFlow asks Google for two things only: to upload the videos you choose, and to see your channel's name so the app can show which channel is connected. It never reads, changes or deletes anything else on your channel.

Post a video

On a finished job, every highlight video has a red YouTube button, and every short a small YouTube icon next to its download button. Click it and check the post window:

  • Title and description: already filled in, edit them if you like.
  • Who can watch: Public, Unlisted (only people with the link) or Private.
  • Made for kids: YouTube asks this for every upload. Most stream content is not made for kids.

Click Post. The upload runs on our side, so you can close the page: the video shows "Posting to YouTube…" and then a link to it. A short arrives on YouTube as a Short; a highlight video as a regular video. Nothing is ever posted without your click.

What is filled in for you

FieldWhere it comes from
TitleThe title generated for that short or highlight video, in your chosen metadata language. Up to 100 characters, cut at a whole word. Editable before you post.
DescriptionThe full generated description. On a highlight video it includes the chapter list, the link to the full stream and your follow links. Editable before you post.
TagsThe game and the streamer come first, then the generated tags. YouTube has no game field that apps can set, so the game travels in the tags.
CategoryGaming for game streams. Just Chatting, IRL and similar streams go to Entertainment, Music streams to Music, Sports to Sports.
LanguageThe language of your title and description, and the language spoken in the stream.

Chapters

Every highlight video's description includes a chapter list, one moment per line, in the exact format YouTube turns into clickable chapters on the progress bar:

00:00 Intro
00:48 Bus Ambush Success!
02:17 Camping Spot Exposed!
03:45 Sniper Dominates the Field!

The list always starts at 00:00 and no chapter is shorter than 10 seconds, as YouTube requires. YouTube also needs at least three chapters, which a highlight video almost always has. This works whether you post from ViddyFlow or paste the description yourself, and YouTube can take a few minutes after processing to show them.

Limits

  • Up to 10 posts per account in any 24 hours. A post that fails does not count.
  • YouTube only accepts videos longer than 15 minutes from verified channels. Verify yours at youtube.com/verify if you post long highlight videos.
  • You can post a job's videos while its files are kept, about 30 days. See Your results.

Disconnect and your data

Open Settings, then Integrations, and click Disconnect. This cancels our access with Google and deletes your channel details and post history with us. You can also remove ViddyFlow from your Google account's permissions page at any time: we notice within a day and delete the same details. Videos already posted stay on your channel. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

If a post fails

The reason is shown under the video, with a Post again button. The common ones:

MessageWhat to do
"Connect your channel again"Our access to your channel ended: you removed it in your Google account, or Google expired it. Open Settings, then Integrations, and connect again.
"This Google account has no YouTube channel yet"Create a channel on YouTube with that Google account, then connect again.
"Your YouTube channel has reached its upload limit for today"YouTube's own daily limit for your channel. Try again tomorrow.
"This video's file isn't stored anymore"The job is older than about 30 days and its files were deleted. Run the job again to post it.
"The upload didn't finish"The upload was interrupted on our side. Click Post again.
"Your browser blocked Google's window"Allow pop-ups for app.viddyflow.com, then click Connect again.
